Project Team, permissions, and Client Portal
Staff membership, access limits, and portal settings.

Project members are the Staff participating in a specific project. Membership determines list visibility, time summaries, and notifications. Removing a member may also remove them from the list of assignees for Tasks tasks within the project; therefore, review their work before taking this action.
Staff permissions controls the viewing, exporting, editing, creation, and deletion of projects—whether all projects, one's own, or those accessible via specific roles. Organizational boundaries also apply.
Project portal settings define what project clients can do: view or create Tasks, add comments, view attachments and milestones, upload files, and view time, financials, stages, Gantt charts, activities, and the team. Disabling the view for Tasks also disables dependent Tasks options.
These settings do not automatically grant access to any client Contact; the Contact person must still be granted rights to the specific project. Always verify the result using a separate portal account after making changes.
Access Control
Add members based on actual responsibilities. If a person only needs access to a single Task, do not necessarily grant full project membership. Enable only those portal areas for the client that the team is prepared to actively manage.
After modifying permissions, verify three things: whether the project appears in the list, whether the direct link opens, and whether the specific tab is accessible. Successfully opening the card alone does not confirm access to files or financial data.
