Sets, categories, and related items

Catalog hierarchy, kit components, and recommended additional items.

Categories organize the catalog into a hierarchy. Select a category from the list on the left; in the category management section, you can create a new one, specify a parent category, or rename an existing one. If a category is deleted, the items previously assigned to it remain in the catalog but become uncategorized.

A set defines components, their quantities, and their sequence. Sets are created via the administration menu Module Options → Sets, while the item card displays which sets a specific item belongs to. Before using a set in a sales document, verify component quantities, prices, and stock levels.

In the Related Items tab, click Assign to select an additional item and specify its quantity. This link facilitates suggesting an add-on or a substitute. It does not automatically add the item to every document; automatic addition is controlled by a separate setting on the item card.

When to use which structure

Choose a category when you need to browse and filter the catalog. Use a set when selling a single solution requires multiple components and specific quantities. Use a related item for recommendations where the additional item is optional. For example, Heating systems could be a category, Boiler installation kit – a kit, and an additional thermostat – a related item (Item). After creating the kit, open it in a sales document and verify which lines are loaded, as well as their order, quantities, prices, and the related item (VAT). If a component is changed, previously created documents are not necessarily recalculated.
